Indy Brewery Guide

Indianapolis has a truly vibrant beer community and luckily you can find great brews on any side of town! I’ve put together the ultimate brewery guide so you won’t have to scour social media trying to figure out what brewery to hit up this weekend! Let me know which one is your favorite and always remember to support and drink local!

Downtown

  • BrewDog - Based out of Scotland with an American HQ in Columbus, Ohio bringing you tasty IPAs.

  • Broad Ripple Brewpub - Indiana’s oldest brewpub and a fan favorite year after year. They also have a lot of plant-based options on their food menu.

  • Black Circle Brewing Company - Black Circle is a microbrewery as well as a music venue. Check out the markets they have on the weekends with local vendors.

  • Centerpoint Brewing - Located in the Circle City Industrial Complex with great beers crafted with precision. Try the El Gato!

  • Chilly Water Brewing Company - In the Fletcher Place neighborhood with great beers like Built to Last and great appetizers.

  • Ellison Brewing - Originally based out of Lansing, Michigan now with a location in Indy and igloos to rent throughout the winter months!

  • Fountain Square Brew Co. - Nestled into Fountain Square brewing favorites like Workingman’s Pilsner and Preacher’s Daughter Amber Ale.

  • Garfield Brewery - Located up the street from Garfield Park, a great place to grab a beer after a bike ride through the park.

  • Guggman Haus Brewing Co. - A microbrewery located in the old Boyle Racing Headquarters. They are always coming up with something new but I love the Riverside NEIPA.

  • Mashcraft on Delaware - The downtown location that has great food, like the Asian Chicken Flatbread.

  • Metazoa Brewing Company - A dog-friendly brewery that always donates 5% of profits to animal and wildlife organizations.

  • New Day Craft - Focused on crafting mead and hard ciders with all natural ingredients.

  • St. Joseph’s Brewery and Public House - Located in a historic church off of Mass Ave with a great food menu perfect for a date night.

  • Sun King Brewery / Sun King Broad Ripple - The original Indy favorite located on College Ave and now offering seltzers, with a location in Broad Ripple with a large food menu. The Cream Ale is a classic go to but the Panchagarita is a great way to switch it up.

  • The Tap - A brewery with a great food menu (the tap fries are hands down my favorite in the city) and house beers as well as local and regional brews. I love the Taptoberfest and Tapolantern around the fall season.

  • Taxman CityWay - The downtown location of Taxman, with amazing beers as well as cocktails. The soft pretzel is a must for sure.

  • Twenty Tap / Twenty Below Brewing - A great spot in SoBro for beers in the basement at Twenty Below Brewing.

  • TwoDEEP Brewing Co. - Right in the heart of downtown with a great view on the patio you can sit on and enjoy a malt-forward beer.

  • Upland Foutain Square Brewery / College Ave Tasting Room - This location has an amazing outdoor patio and one of my favorite brews of all time - Oak and Rose, a sour beer brewed in Oliver Winery barrels.

Northside

  • Big Lug Canteen - Brewing American beers and serving lots of yummy food, definitely stop in for the poutine!

  • Bier Brewery & Tap Room / Bier Brewery North - Now with a Fishers location, Bier Brewery focuses on quality and offers a lot of their brews in cans.

  • Big Woods Noblesville - The northern branch of the Big Woods locations serving Quaff ON! beers and great food Big Woods is known for.

  • Blind Owl Brewery - I’d definitely recommend getting a big pretzel to share (or not to share) when you visit Blind Owl, and wash it down with a Black Forest Marzen

  • Books N’ Brews Carmel / Noblesville - The most northern locations of this franchise, with the Carmel location in the Carmel City Center and the Noblesville one in the Hamilton Town Center.

  • Danny Boy Beer Works - An Irish focused nanobrewery located in the Village of West Clay.

  • Daredevil Hall - An offshoot of Daredevil Brewing located in the Ironworks complex (a bonus if you’re staying in the hotel is that the brewery can deliver to the lobby!)

  • Deviate Brewing - Like the name, this brewery aims to make new and unique brews, like ones based around food pairings or changing up classic flavors.

  • Field Brewing - A gorgeous brewery located in Westfield with minimal decor and a large selection of plant-based menu options.

  • Four Day Ray Brewing - Located in the Nickel Plate District of Fishers serving 24 taps of beer and food.

  • Grand Junction Brewing Co. - Brewing heavily English and overall European inspired beers in Westfield.

  • Mashcraft Brewing Company - Located in Fishers and serving up the Mashcraft beers you love. One of my favorite things about Mashcraft is the TV monitors with all the info on the beers they’re currently serving.

  • Moontown Brewing Company - Located in Whitestown brewing spacey and experimental beers with a food menu.

  • Primeval Brewing - Beers inspired by those from Germany, the UK, and Belgium with a large tap room.

  • Sun King Carmel / Sun King Fishers - The Carmel location has spirits as well as classic Sun King beers along cafeteria style food options, and the Fishers location in The Yard is home to the Test Kitchen with new food coming out all the time.

  • Taxman Fortville - The northern most location of Taxman with a seasonally inspired menu in the Brasserie.

  • Triton Brewing Company and Bistro - A great place to grab a beer after a hike around Fort Ben! They brew all different kinds of beers and focus on quality.

  • Union Brewing - Located in Carmel brewing artisan crafted beers.

  • Upland Carmel Tap House - Strategically located near the Monon with the Upland brews they’re known for and a seasonal menu.
