3 Meals that are Perfected with Everything But the Bagel Seasoning
If you’ve been to Trader Joe’s lately, you’ve probably known about the hype of the Everything But the Bagel seasoning. It’s become so popular than even Aldi has their own similar version. I love this seasoning and use it on a ton of meals, everything from avocado toast to sweet potato fries (and let’s be real, I put it on top of my cream cheese when I’m eating an everything bagel). Sometimes it can be difficult to know what to throw it on so I’ve listed out my 3 favorite recipes to use it on that will take you throughout your daily meal. This post is short, sweet, and easy to follow along with so let me know which recipes you end up trying!
Breakfast - Fried Egg
Fried eggs are one of my favorite breakfasts to have, and the more runny the egg, the better. But what makes it really perfect is the Everything But the Bagel seasoning, so toss it on at the end! I also loving putting my bagel on top of a toasted half of an everything bagel because I’m extra.
Ingredients:
-1 tablespoon butter
-1 egg
-Everything But the Bagel seasoning
Steps:
1.) Melt butter in a pan allowing it to coat the bottom.
2.) Crack egg into pan and cook until the clear part turns white.
3.) Flip and do the same on the other side. Continue flipping depending on how you like your eggs cooked.
4.) Place egg onto place and shake some seasoning on top and serve.
Lunch - Cauliflower Casserole
My lunch is usually whatever I made for dinner the night before and this cauliflower casserole is perfect to heat up at work! Super easy to make and super healthy, and truly perfected with Everything But the Bagel seasoning.
Ingredients:
-3 tablespoons of butter
-5 cloves of garlic
-1/2 cup flour
-1-2 cups milk (I used coconut)
-1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-2 large heads of cauliflower cut into florets
-1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
-2 tablespoons Everything But the Bagel seasoning
Steps:
1.) Prepare a casserole dish by using non-stick cooking spray and preheat oven to 425F.
2.) Melt butter in a large stock pot over medium high heat on the stove. Once butter begins to melt, add in sliced garlic, being careful not to burn the garlic.
3.) Once garlic is fragrant, begin making a roux by adding in 1 tablespoon of flour, whisking to combine with butter and garlic.
4.) Slowly add 1/4 cup milk to mixture, still whisking to combine. Continue with remaining flour and milk until a thick roux forms and no clumps remain. You may need to add more flour to thicken depending on how much milk you used.
5.) Once the roux if ready, turn heat down to medium and add in cauliflower. Stir to combine or until the cauliflower is well coated with the roux. Add in pepper and mix to combine.
6.) Pour cauliflower into prepared casserole dish and bake for 35 minutes or until cauliflower is tender.
7.) While cauliflower is cooking, toss parmesan cheese and everything bagel seasoning in a small bowl.
8.) When the cauliflower is tender, remove from oven and top with cheese and everything bagel seasoning mixture. Turn the oven to broil and watch carefully for 2-3 minutes until the cheese turns a deep golden color. Remove from oven and enjoy.
Dinner - Carbonara
One of the easiest meals to make on the fly but still taste good is carbonara! Prep, cooking, and clean up is super easy and it requires minimal ingredients (also noticing the trend of eggs with this seasoning, they go so great together!) so it’s great for nights you don’t feel like cooking a ton.
Ingredients
-1/2 box of spaghetti pasta
-2 eggs
-1/2 cup parmesan cheese
-1 teaspoon black pepper or crushed red pepper flakes
Steps:
1.) Heat water to a bowl and cook spaghetti pasta like you normally would.
2.) While spaghetti is cooking, whisk together the eggs, cheese, and pepper to make a kind of sauce.
3.) Drain pasta and pour egg sauce mixture and stir quickly and serve so the egg doesn’t totally cook. You can also add bacon crumbles or cooked pancetta pieces if you desire.
4.) Sprink with Everything But the Bagel seasoning!
