Indy Summer 2020 Farmers Market Guide

Summer is here and even though social distancing and wearing a mask is still of the utmost importance, that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of summer this year! Warmer days to me automatically mean it’s farmers’ market season so I’ve put together this quick guide to the Indianapolis Farmers’ Markets for the 2020 season. I love buying and supporting local as much as I can and it is a great way to know exactly where your produce and other items are coming from and even meet the people who make and grow them! I’ve Some of my favorite things to get at farmers’ markets are honey, breads, and even flowers but I’ve also seen herbs, seasonings, ice cream, and kombucha!

Indianapolis Original Farmers’ Market on Monument Circle

Dates: Every Wednesday from 9:30 to 1:30 May through the end of October, rain or shine

Where: Right in the heart of downtown Indy in Monument Circle

What: Vendors include Mathoo’s Eggrolls, Nicey Treat, Kiel Coffee, Vegan Cheese Lady, Native Bread

Other: Certified EBT (SNAP), need to adhere to social distancing guidelines due to COVID19 and wear masks, pre-order and pre-pay with vendors is available, food may not be consumed on site, families are encouraged to send one representative to avoid overcrowding.

City Market

Dates: Indoor market open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday and Saturdays 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and closed Sundays, but certain vendor hours may differ from Market hours

Where: 222 East Market St., downtown Indianapolis

What: Vendors include The Tamale Place, Gomez BBQ, 3 Days in Paris, The Flower Boys, Rebellion Doughnuts, Spice Box

Other: Hand washing and sanitizer stations now dispersed throughout the market, dining capacity at 50%, and many vendors are doing carry out and curbside delivery.

Broad Ripple Farmers’ Market

Dates: Each Saturday from May 2nd to September 26th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and then each Saturday from October 3rd to November 21st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: There is a new location this year! The market is now in the Glendale Town Center East parking lot at 6179 N. Rural St.

What: Vendors include 317 Juicery, Circle Kombucha, Harvest Moon Flower Farm, La Chinita Poblana, Lick Ice Cream, Tailored Toddies, Walking Waffle Company, Wildflower Ridge Honey

Other: Allowing pre orders for pickups, safety hour is from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and masks are required for those who may be more immunocompromised, encourage visitors to maintain social distance and minimize time at the market.

Garfield Park Farmers’ Market

Dates: Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM from May to October

Where: Southeast corner of Garfield Park near Shelby St. and Southern Ave.

What: Vendors are updated weekly so these may differ week to week but you can expect to see businesses like Bee Coffee Roasters, Body Eclectic, Say It Ain’t Salsa, Second Breakfast Ranch, The Royal Frenchman Tea Co.

Other: The market is solely food-focused this season due to COVID19 and will not be selling crafted goods, food trucks, or samples. Safe shopping is from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. They encourage you pre pay and pre order as much as you can and provide hand sanitizing and washing stations.

Carmel Farmers’ Market

Dates: Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM from May to September

Where: 2 Center Green, Carmel, Indiana

What: Vendors include Amazing Hazel’s, Cafe Baby, Green Growers, Indie Coffee Roasters, Mallow Run Winery, Tulip Tree Creamery

Other: Due to COVID19 the layout of the Market has changed but hand sanitizer is available and masks must be worn.

Binford Farmers’ Market

Dates: Every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM from May to October

Where: 65th St. and Binford Blvd. at Northview Church

What: Vendors include Jason Michael Thomas, My Dad’s Sweet Corn, Petals and Pollen, Indy Cutting Edge, Patriot Medicinal Hemp, Urban AG Indy, Vietnamese Egg Roll Bar

Other: Masks are required and social distancing practices should be taken into account.

Noblesville Farmers’ Market

Dates: Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM from May 16th to October 24th

Where: Federal Hill Commons, Cicero Rd.

What: Vendors include Mandala Clay Designs, Karma Candles and Kinds, 9th St Bistro, Blackhawk Winery, It’s the Dip, The Goodie Basket

Other: Masks are required and there are no public restrooms available
