Top 10 Patios in Indy Pt. 1

1) The Hulman - 141 E. Washington St.

Step into history at this modern brasserie located inside Hotel Indy. Grab the signature Hulman Burger downstairs, then head six floors up to Cannon Ball Lounge—one of downtown’s best rooftop bars with skyline views and seasonal cocktails.

2) Guggman Haus Brewing Co. - 1701 Gent Ave.

This brewery-meets-beer-garden is tucked away near Speedway and has a spacious patio perfect for a family night out. Grab a flight, a chorizo nacho plate from Cabin Kitchen, and enjoy one of the most laid-back family- and dog-friendly patios in Indy.

3) Half Liter Beer and BBQ Hall - 5301 Winthrop Ave. Ste. B

Right off the Monon Trail in SoBro, Half Liter serves up smoky BBQ, frozen boozy slushies, and huge portions perfect for sharing. Their patio is a great stop after a long walk or ride on the Monon when you need some refreshment.

4) Bluebeard - 653 Virginia Ave.

This award-winning Fletcher Place spot is beloved for its farm-to-table-esque dishes and romantic patio. Think: muraled walls, bistro lights, and a garden atmosphere that feels like a secret European getaway. I love their Alpine Twist cocktail.

5) The Tap - 306 N. Delaware St.

If you’re looking for a spot to hang out with friends for a night out, The Tap is your spot (I actually spent two years of Wednesdays here in grad school doing trivia)! They have over forty beers on tap and their patio has a gorgeous plant wall that brings the space to life.

6) Flatwater - 832 E Westfield Blvd.

This Broad Ripple staple has waterside views, easy Monon Trail access, and build-your-own Bloody Marys every Sunday. It’s great for casual brunches or sunset drinks in the heart of the village.

7) Bocca - 122 E 22nd St

This Italian-inspired gem is located in Herron-Morton, and you won’t want to miss an evening listening to live music on their string-lit patio. This is an ideal spot date night or girls’ night with upscale small plates, craft cocktails, and plenty of charm - be sure to split the Aperol Spritz tower (and check out their basement speakeasy when the sun goes down).

8) Baby’s - 2147 N Talbott St

Part retro diner, part cocktail lounge, Baby’s brings the fun with late-night eats, boozy milkshakes, and DJ nights. Their large outdoor space is perfect for a carefree summer night with friends.

9) Rick’s Cafe Boatyard - 4050 Dandy Trail

Catch a beautiful sunset for a romantic date night at this Eagle Creek spot perfect for warm summer evenings. Their food is delicious - highly recommend making reservations especially during busy seasons.

10 ) Iozzo’s Garden of Italy - 946 S. Meridian St.

This spot feels like a secret since it’s nestled into the courtyard of the building but it will make you feel like you’re dining in Italy once you have a vodka pasta in front of you and Aperol spritz in hand.
